After You See Guardians of the Galaxy

Guardians of the Galaxy has been out in theaters for nearly three weeks now. How many times have you seen it? The day before its release I put together a grab bag of recommended reading/viewing before you see it. Here I'm going to do that again with all-new recommendations after you've seen it. Obviously, the following will contain spoilers for Guardians of the Galaxy.

Check out what James Gunn wrote on his Facebook page as the curtains drew on Guardians' first weekend out of the gate. It's a heartfelt open letter and fans will be delighted to know that he's busy at work on Guardians of the Galaxy 2.

Guardians was chock-full of easter eggs (fun little references and secrets), some were more obvious than others. This video by Mr. Sunday Movie claims to have cut together every easter egg in the film. Also, /Film has compiled over 50 easter eggs in one single post.

Star Wars was no doubt a big influence on Guardians, but is Guardians now an influence for the new Star Wars movies? Bryan Young discusses over on

Allison Wilmore took it upon herself to sew seeds of nerdy discord by ranking the characters that appear in Guardians of the Galaxy (well, at least 16 of them). Who was your favorite character in the film?

Film Crit HULK has shared his thoughts on the film, specifically on the art of constructing jokes. How did Guardians work as an action comedy for you? Feel free to share what you felt were the funniest moments in the comments below.

It's important to remember that each character in this film has a creator. The New York Times has a very pertinent piece about the them receiving credit for their original ideas, "Armed Animals Don't Invent Themselves."

One of the biggest questions to emerge from the film is the identity of Star-Lord's father. James Gunn says they will differ from the comics in this regard. /Film has more details on this particular issue.

Thanos is clearly going to be a big deal for the Guardians and the rest of the Marvel Cinematic Universe going forward. It's time to enroll in Thanos 101, where IGN fills us in on everything we need to know about the ultra-villain.

Finally, /Film has posted an article entitled "Everything We Know About Guardians of the Galaxy 2."

If you're looking for some more geeky chatter about the sequel, some of the fine folks at IGN had a discussion of what they want from Guardians of the Galaxy 2. Luckily, someone accidentally left the camera rolling.

Guardians of the Galaxy 2 hits theaters on July 28th, 2017.

While I strive to keep Cineflect from being yet another movie news site, I will occasionally compile grab bag posts of this sort for movies that are popular and deserving enough. For daily news (including many items in the Marvel Cinematic Universe) keep on a tab open on the Cineflect Facebook page. What are your thoughts on Guardians of the Galaxy or any of these related items? Have you found any other worthwhile articles and videos regarding the film? Share with us in the comments below!
